Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and I thought I'd introduce myself. My name's David, I'm a member of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and I'm a sophomore in college. I'm probably one of the biggest proponents of Orthodox unity alive, which may or may not cause a problem here haha. I consider us all Orthodox brothers and sisters and cannot wait for the day when we may partake of communion with one-another (instead of just in emergency situations, etc.). Oh, and yes, I do believe that'll happen sometime in my lifetime. I'm not much of a talker, and on other forums I tend to just spectate and be quiet, though I figure I'd give this a chance since it's much more active. So yea, hello!

I am Ethiopian Orthodox, and I too share your desire for Orthodox unity. Since our EOTC Church is over 6 hours away, my family has been attending a Greek Orthodox Church here in our home town. Father Chris is the Priest (he's one of the administrators on this forum), and he has warmly welcomed us to his parish. Our sons even served at the altar today (although they don't receive the sacraments.)
I wish I could say that this forum is a shining example of Orthodox unity, but sadly that is not the case. But perhaps the division and backbiting exhibited on this site is merely indicative of the state of Christendom as a whole. The Body of Christ is beaten, scarred, bloodied, and mocked; but nevertheless she will endure until the end.
