Beloved Michael: my patron--I thank God for you!

« on: December 18, 2009, 07:10:50 AM »

Friends,

May I humbly ask for prayers for Father Joasaph?  I first learned about him when I started attendng my church:  he was, for a time, he was their choir leader and liturgics teacher who went into monasticism and became an Archmandirate (sp?)).  He has travelled widely and done a lot of good work for the Lord, including Jerusalem.  He is very highly-spoken of in my parish and very well-loved.

For a long while as I understand it, he's been battling a serious and incurable cancer (I wish I remembered what kind, don't think it matters though).  Earlier this month, he fell ill with pnuemonia and while he recovered from that, he is now (from what I found out yesterday from Father) very close to repose (can't eat-can't drink-can't speak), and they think perhaps he doesn't have much time left.  He is only 48 years old.

From the way everyone talks, I wish I could have met him and I have been keeping him constantly in prayers.  Please remember him in your prayers please.   Thank you so much.

May Father Joasaph's Memory be Eternal!

From the kind words spoken of him, he is a great loss to this world.
