My wife and I will be taking a long ride to pickup our oldest from college for Christmas Break. As I've posted before, I've been reading a lot about Orthodoxy and wanting to convert. My wife is very open to the idea but has not done the reading I have. We are Protestant, Non Denominational Church attenders with Charismatic leanings.

Can someone point me to some free download-able teaching mp3's that we can listen to on our journey. Stuff on the the Liturgy, Eucharist, Icons and Orthodoxy in general.

Thanks for anything you can recommend!

Check out "Our Life in Christ".  Steve and Bill do a great job in presenting the Faith, especially to those who aren't used to alot of the terminology (eg ex-Protestants).

Agreed, those guys helped me tremendously. I'd also recommend Micahael Hyatt's program- At the Intersection of East and West http://ancientfaith.com/podcasts/eastwest .

I just wish they wouldn't laugh and giggle so much. It just comes across as being flippant about the subject matter. Maybe it's just me.

Also, on Ancient Faith Radio, check out Fr. Thomas Hopko's podcasts, one of them being "Speaking the Truth in Love".

I also found Dn Michael's podcast very helpful.

Also, ACROD has been doing a great "Orthodoxy 101" online course that covers the basics. You can listen to back episodes here: http://www.acrod.org/multimedia/audio/conferences/orth101-mp3. To watch the live broadcasts (Mondays at 7PM Eastern Time), register here: http://moodle.acrod.org/login/signup.php. There is a live Q&A time after each class, so you and your wife can ask questions if they arise.

Actually I'm already taking that class.

I thought I would post that we got back from our 2 day trip where we listened to a number of podcasts from "Our Life in Christ". My wife is now considers this "our" interest in converting to the Orthodox Church.  Smiley
