Monk Series Finale
« on: December 04, 2009, 10:05:00 PM »
Watching it right now... With baited breath ;)
"If you are going to serve the Lord, be prepared for times when you will be put to the test. Be sincere and determined. Keep calm when trouble comes. Stay with the Lord; never abandon Him and you will be prosperous at the end of your days. Accept whatever happens to you. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient. Gold is tested by fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Trust the Lord and He will help you. Walk straight in His ways and put your hope in Him. " Sir 2:1-6

Hope it's good. My wife used to watch that show all the time, but while I tried watching it a few times, I could never really get into it.

Will he get reinstated and take Randy's  job?

The best Monk episode was when Monk was a little boy.  His cold, neurotic mom (in this episode) was a classic.

The 6-fingered guy was already killed in that show when Monk was being framed, right?

Clearly you guys are not talking about a soccer competition between rival monasteries.

I only wonder if there's a hidden pun somewhere in that message on the Egypt/Algeria rivalry :P

Yes - and in that show, Monk had gotten a clue (I don't remember) about who was the mastermind.

US TV show about an obsessive-compulsive private detective.  IMO, very well written & acted.

I think it was an excellent finish to the story - great resolution and whatnot.

I also thought the finale was a good finish as well. It was a great run for the show though. One of my favorites. Tony Shalhoub is a great actor.

I think it was a really good idea to have the critical realization (who did it and why) be the way it was.  I won't say more, so as not to spoil it for anyone who is going to see it.

I'm thankful this didn't turn out like a Sopranos ending.

And I agree, Tony Shalhoub has officially been one of my favorite actors (although some bias goes into that when I also found out he is an Arab American).
