Fr. Daniil Sysoyev
« on: November 21, 2009, 12:18:11 AM »
Hey y'all,

Over on the prayer forum, we're all praying for the repose of the priest Fr.  Daniil Sysoyev.  Because he was a priest, and he knew people wanted to kill him yet continued to serve, doesn't this mean that he's a martyr?  And will he now be canonized?  What's the procedure?

Here is a great article from the OCA on the Glorification of Saints:

Thanks Handmaiden...  :) It would seem Fr. Daniil surely is to be considered a holy martyr.
