Friends,

I am about to take my Patristics 201 exam at 2 pm.  It will be very difficult for me, so I entreat your prayers that I might receive a "B" grade on the exam (or an A- if the Lord is feeling merciful)!

Thanks a bunch,

Your friend in Christ,

Dustin Anastasios

I don't know if this is acceptable in Orthodox practice, but I ALWAYS went and got a blessing from my superior or a priest - etc - before taking tests. Cheesy ALWAYS helped.

I pray the Lord gives you total recall of all you have learned.

Anastasios

It's after 2pm.  How do you think you did?  I got through Patristics at seminary by just keeping writing that "While this particular father felt this way he , in the end, deferred to the Pope".

Well on second thought that might not work at St Vlad's.

Hope you did well.

Thanks for all your prayers! I wrote for about 90 min, felt comfortable, and handed in the exam. It was two questions, one about "can it be said that canonical Christianity was established in the late second century?" referring to the array of sects vying for the title "The Orthodox" and the other was a question about St Justin Martyr's theory of the logos spermatikos.  Actually these are the two I chose, as there were options which I greatly appreciated.

In Christ,

Who canonised him?  Just the other day he was declared an Apostate.  Tongue

Congrats, Dustin!
