Yep, I got one. I woke up this morning at 1am in excruciating pain and went to the hospital where it was discovered I have a 5mm stone working its way from my kidney out. OUCH. Please remember me in your prayers, especially since my chrismation is set for this Saturday and hopefully this puppy will have passed by then, otherwise I may not be able to make it

Schultz! I feel your pain. I've had them 3 times over the last 10 years! I was in the ER with one, the same night my sister was giving birth to one of her sons. The nurse told me I was in more pain that she was at the time.
May the Lord help you through this. I hope and pray the stone quickly makes it's way "out"...with a minimum of discomfort.
Drink lots of water!
Lord, have mercy!

Ouch! I've never had one, but I've heard they're more painful than anything I've experienced (e.g. attempted tooth pull without anesthesia), so I hate to even begin to imagine what it must be like. I hope I never have one, or if I do that the doctor would agree to having it removed surgically. I'm guessing using the surgical options wasn't available in your case? My thoughts are with you, I hope things improve sooner rather than later!

Lord have mercy!
I also have heard that kidney stones are awful....I've even heard some women say they'd rather have labor pains. I've never had kidney stones, but I have played nearly an entire rugby game with a broken nose, which hurt worse than when I fell through a few floors of a burning home.
If that's what you're going through...Lord, hear our prayer, and have mercy on the work of Your hands!
Please keep us informed, too!

I don't have them but my mom does and I know it's not something I want to experience.
Good luck.

I know your pain...I can't tell you how many times I've suffered from kidney stones. Even my dogs...Bella had a stone the size of a golf ball and Daisy had over 90 stones removed. Cranberry juice is a good thing to drink as is lemonade, if its from lemons and not a mix.

Been there. Done that. Don't ever want to go through that again. Some prescription strength doses of Ibuprofen got me through it, though. Lord, have mercy! I hope I never have one, or if I do that the doctor would agree to having it removed surgically.
Lithotripsy (pulverizing of the stone with powerful ultrasound waves) is the preferred method for removal of kidney stones too large to pass, but that's all I'll say, considering that this is the Prayer Forum.

I'm currently going through the same joy. A larger stone broke up into 3, and 2 have passed. A tiny, but painful bugger still remains.

Yes, I did. The pain was mostly gone by Friday. It still hasn't passed, but I'm just a bit uncomfortable as opposed to being in pain. The stone is now in my bladder (probably) and I'm now on Flomax to help get it out. I have a CT scan in a couple of weeks to see if its still there if I haven't noticed it passing before then. Thanks!
