My water heater just went kaboom, 29 degrees outside , no showers or shaving till late Monday, maybe time for a beard.

slave: he said that for the babe. I'm talking about the shaving! We lived in a 28 room farm house for years. The bathroom was a 1940's addition. 3 outside walls on the WEST face of the house. It didn't matter how hot we had the hotwater tank - the pipes would ALWAYS freeze. It was just easier to heat the water on the stove and carry it in for baths. |

Yes its been pretty bitter down here in the south, we went to the coast for a run out and needed our coats and hats and scarves and gloves. Have you had snow yet where you are in Scotland? My wife's family in Stirling and Falkirk had a wee bit a few days ago.

I've seen a few flakes of snow in Tynron when I go down to drive - but none as yet here in Glasgow. So far they have not shut the snow gates up North. It may be cold , we may have had lots of rain , we have had gales - but snow now that is still missing [ and long may that continue ]
