^^I agree. I have long given up on "quick and dirty" answers to my prayers. I do pray, not quite regularly and not quite long, skipping bigger or smaller parts of the liturgical prayers in my Ukrainian prayerbook, without any thought about will these prayers be answered or not. And I do not, ever, ever "pray" in an improvised way, "asking" God to GIVE me this or that. I just say the liturgical prayers from the book, that's all. Maybe it's a "rote" repetition, maybe it's meaningful, but I somehow feel that the other way - really asking God to GIVe me what *I* WANT - is worse. He knows better what's good for me...
