Watched "My Cousin Vinny" yesterday. Might do "Labyrinth" tonight. I forgot I owned it until this thread reminded me of it. Hmm. Either that or "Logan's Run". Gotta get my outdated sci-fi/fantasy fix in somehow!

And Inland Empire is in the mail.

Thank you for disturbing me so much Mr. Lynch.

Like his works a lot, along with his co-work with Reznor in "Lost Highway" Smiley. Great composer.

Reznor did a great job. Lynch also did good capturing the mood but I wouldn't rank it too highly in his canon. I cannot wait for Inland Empire though, people have been complaining it's too Lynchian. Which is fine with me, because I love how far he can go down the rabbit hole.

Speaking of rabbit hole, I recommend you his "Rabbits" (although I'm pretty sure you've watched it, posting just in case) - rated "H" for "Huh?"  Huh

Inland Empire is that film dude. 3 hours of pure Lynch, just incredible. It's going to take along while for this one to sink in and there is one scene in particular which I think is the most disturbing haunting image I have ever seen.

A hell of an emotional rollercoaster.

And now I'll be watching Mulholland Drive tonight again. Watching it at night is just the best.

Just saw the second half of it again while recovering after a night of carousing (aka, a Friday).  It's a pretty good movie.  There probably isn't anything important enough in your life to keep you from watching it right now.

We will discuss it in three hours.

Whatever you do, please do not watch the Redux version first.

It's a much deeper film than what it appears to be. I especially like how Willard punches a mirror, which reflects (no pun) his own self-destruction.

***SPOILER ALERT***

I loved how Coppola manages to make this film circular. At the beginning of the film where Willard clearly has a mental breakdown, this is because of him killing Col. Kurtz just as the napalm in the beginning of the film is the destruction of the Kurtz compound, IMO.

I cannot wait until Tokyo Story goes on Blu-Ray in the States, I hope the Criterion Collection does it. And I want my Vertigo blu-ray as well, and not the restoration crap either (especially not using the mono track).

Oh and surprisingly this film helped me in becoming Orthodox:

No vodka, no firearms.  That is a bizarre and highly disturbing movie.   I couldn't watch it in one sitting, got a good bit of the way through then watched the last third or so the next night, whatever point the village scene was.  I have only watched it once.

Is this the film you are talking about?

Come and See
http://www.amazon.com/Come-See-Aleksey-Kravchenko/dp/B0000BWVCR/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1347914079&sr=1-2&keywords=come+and+see

EDIT: Looks like this is on amazon.com Instant Video, will have to watch this tonight. Thanks!

Yes, that's the one! I recommend taking a shot (or ten) of vodka during/after movie.
Man another one of those movies where having a gun at my lap isn't a good idea?

No vodka, no firearms.  That is a bizarre and highly disturbing movie.   I couldn't watch it in one sitting, got a good bit of the way through then watched the last third or so the next night, whatever point the village scene was.  I have only watched it once.

Quote from the Editorial Reviews on the amazon page:

Florya's journey takes him and us through a gallery of exquisitely poetic imagery and brutal human atrocity.

Just what my life needs right now.

That pretty much sums it up.  It might not be as gory as our slasher flicks but I'd watch Saw on acid before I watched Come and See again.

It is an education process for me as I learn about the psychology of spiritual apostasy. And others get the benefit of perhaps hearing righteousness for the first time.

Good idea! Watch "Come And See", you'll definitely won't be disappointed. It's the most disturbing movie I've ever seen. As dark as (sur)real.

Oh man I saw this on the big screen. It's a nasty one, with lots of weirdness. Like the dead Nazi lady with the Swastika earrings.

It's funny because I knew the film would be about two lesbians, but when the scene actually came where they start getting into it, it actually took me a little by surprise.

I was never one to get off on lesbians TBH.
