Today I saw "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows." Man, was it good! It was really good. I loved how the ending was a reference to the Sherlock Holmes death and being "brought back to life" from the books.

Actor Viggo Mortensen makes a singular impression on screen. As sword-wielding Strider -- Aragorn -- in Lord of the Rings. As bewitching lover in A Walk on the Moon. As Russian gangster in Eastern Promises. As horseman in Hidalgo. As Sigmund Freud in the new A Dangerous Method.
He’s tough but tender. Dangerous, and something indefinable. Maybe it’s the Danish daddy. The school years in Argentina. The sidelines in poetry and painting. The outsider sensibility. The politics of Kucinich and Cindy Sheehan.
This hour, On Point: a conversation with the singular Viggo Mortensen. Viggo in Eastern Promises was quite good, as he was in A History of Violence.

Finally watched Moneyball with Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. It was definitely worth the wait. Highly recommended. Its' not a "baseball" movie like Field of Dreams or Bull Durham or For Love of the Game as it shows a different side to the game.

Get "Dark Star" next. It was John Carpenter's graduate student movie along a similar theme ( Alien infection of a Star Ship) except it's a dark comedy.

See, my big worry is that after seeing the reviews, I summed the movie up as:
3 dudes get powers, 2 dudes love it, one guy gets all cuts-himself emo...they fight, emo kid dies. the end.
I hope Im wrong.

Wait. 3 people get powers, two enjoy (abuse) the powers, one gets emo. Emo dies. Why would you hope you're wrong? Sounds like the best possible ending for such a flick!
