My wife is going to require major surgery on her knee. We're going to need to find a good lawyer since this could be prohibitively expensive. Your prayers are definitely needed at this time. Her name is Lin. Thanks.

Again... thank you, All. Lin has been in pain for over a month now and the MRI results (which just arrived yesterday) indicate that the tear is quite severe. It makes me see red since this is all the result of the negligence of the shuttle driver. We're going to need direction from the Lord in finding a good surgeon (and lawyer). It's going to be very expensive and I know it will mean a long process (in both areas). Any prayers you can spare will mean a lot. Lin is everything to me. Thanks again.

Lord, have mercy! I had forgotten this was a result of an accident. My brother's wife also had a mishap whilst exiting a streetcar and her foot was somehow run over. She has been in severe pain for a few years now and can only wear certain kinds of shoes,so I can truly sympathize. Anyhow, I pray you will be able to find an excellent surgeon and that you will receive the proper compensation to cover the costs. I'm sorry this unfortunate accident had to happen. Truly, we just never know what difficulty life will throw at us.

An update on Lin:
She has what is sometimes referred to as the unhappy triad (you can Google this for more information). Essentially it boils down to a torn lateral meniscus, a ruptured ACL, a grade 2 strain of the MCL and a blood clot deep within the fibrous tissue. It's quite serious but fortunately we were able to get one of the best surgeons in Portland and we'll be going for a pre-op exam on Wednesday. The hindrance right now is in finding a lawyer to represent us.
Now... the wait starts until Wednesday.

Update:
We just returned from the surgeon's office (and the lawyer's following that). The surgery is to be on November 20th. It's to be a two-hour affair. Evidently Lin really blew out her knee. He was amazed she didn't doing it skiing or playing hockey! As for the lawyer... let's just say that your prayers are being answered: we have one who will represent us. Thank you all so much. And I know we would both appreciate your remembering Lin on the 20th. Prayer changes things.
