This is an old interview from 2005 I recently ran across.  Anyone know what, if any, changes have come about since then?

It's an interesting and certainly provocative interview.  Seems timely, and controversial, to read it with the coming meeting.

I like Metropolitan JOHN's works on ecclesiology and personhood, but, as an ecumenist, he is dangerous.

BTW, does anyone why he always includes his last name?  I thought Bishops and Metropolitans were always called simply by their monastic title such as HIs All-Holines VARTHOLOMAIOS or Metropolitan PHILIP, etc.

Good question about the name.  I included it because I know he is controversial and wanted to make clear which "John" I was referencing.  Maybe that's the reason in general?
