The Sarov Press transmitted an announcement with the current issue of "The Sentinel," indicating that its Managing Editor, Nicholas Trahan, was recently diagnosed with leukemia.  "The Sentinel" includes news of interest to the international Eastern Orthodox community, that is not readily available or published otherwise.  He also includes news of the former royal families of Orthodox nations.

I ask for your prayers for the full recovery of the health of His Servant Nicholas.

Just curious, who is Nicholas and what is his backround (is he a cradle Orthodox or a convert)?  I used to correspond with someone by that name (or, at least, a name familiar sounding to his).  However this Nicholas was a devout traditionalist Catholic of the Roman (not Orthodox) variety.  I wonder if they are the same?

My prayers as with him.
Men may dislike truth, men may find truth offensive and inconvenient, men may persecute the truth, subvert it, try by law to suppress it. But to maintain that men have the final power over truth is blasphemy, and the last delusion. Truth lives forever, men do not.

Reply to Reply #3 Robb,

I do not know him.  His editorials would indicate he is an Orthodox Traditionalist.  When he began publication of "The Sentinel," he indicated it was under the Omorphorion of Archbishop Chrysostomos of Etna, the Greek Synod In Resistance's American Exarchate; however His Eminence asked him to cease noting this as the publication was not one of the Exarchate's.  If I were to guess, based on his Editorials, which are rather anti-ecumenist, (he was opposed to the terms of the Moscow Patriarchate's reconciliation with the ROCOR), I'd guess he is in the ROCOR (Old Calendar Greeks would be my second choice), but again, he doesn't indicate to which jurisdiction he belongs.  Other than a 1/2 page Editorial, the publication reprints from other publications, including news releases.  Sarov Press's mailing address is in Medford, MA.
