Whoa! Way to take it personally. I was confused by your odd word choice, and your explanation of the Italian clears it up perfectly. In English, "resist" requires an object (that is, something to be resisted), whereas "persist" does not. Hence when you used "resist," I asked what was to be resisted.

Personally, I am glad to see the nature of relations between the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Roman Catholic Church.  Imagine, basic courtesy in Church politics...

Are you serious when you say this? Huh I have not read anything about various meetings to suggest that it was anything but civil.
