Gebre Menfes Kidus,

I pray that our Lord and God Jesus Christ and His Mother the Blessed Virgin Kidane-Mihret give you the wisdom and grace that you need in dealing with the difficult situation you are in.

What is his view of church history? And what is his view of the history of the Baptists? If he is a "landmark" Baptist type, then maybe you could try and help him see why Baptists weren't started by John the Baptist, and why they have their beginning in the 17nth century of England.

In regards to faith alone:
I recall watching EWTN(A Roman Catholic station) one year, and I remember Fr. Pacwa say something to the affect that "salvation is a process" and that when it comes to "initial salvation" we are saved by faith alone, but when it comes to "final salvation" we are judged by our works.

It was something like that. I gotta hear him say it again to make sure.

But it's good to see that things are a little but better.

"loving one's enemies does not mean loving wickedness, ungodliness, adultery, or theft. Rather, it means loving the theif, the ungodly, and the adulterer." Clement of Alexandria 195 A.D.
