Dear folks,
Please say a prayer for my mother-in-law, Mariya, and for my sister-in-law, Myroslava.
As I wrote a while ago, Myroslava's older daughter is expecting a baby, and moved into what used to be my mother-in-law's apartment, while my 78-y.o. mother-in-law moved in with Myroslava. It turned out to be a complete nightmare, because my mother-in-law became acutely psychotic. I don't know what disease it is, exactly - could be Alzheimer's, could be a senile psychosis, or a late onset schizophrenia. Regardless, she is in a complete disconnect with reality, has delusions, became completely paranoid about several things (people stealing money from her, the need to visit long deceased relatives, etc.). Every now and then, she escapes from the apartment to the street, talks to strangers, tries to board a bus or to walk into strangers' apartments, and so forth.
A psychiatrist visited her and gave Myroslava prescriptions for several major drugs (big neuroleptics, sedatives and other). So far, however, nothing seems to work...
It's so sad because just a few years ago, my mother-in-law, a retired high school mathematics teacher, was a very nice, kind, intelligent, lucid, loving woman - and all that is now gone. Lord, have mercy...

Thank you all so much for your prayers!
An update: yesterday, my mother-in-law, Mariya, was hospitalized. It was an emergency thing, because she was really loud and aggressive and dangerous for herself as well as those around her... She resisted, but was subdued, and is now in a psychiatric ward...
I could never, in my worst nighmare, imagine that this would happen to Lesya's mother who always struck me as a kind, reasonable, caring, loving woman. Just a few years, it seemed to me that Mariya Arsenivna (that's how I am used to calling her - "Arsenivna" is a typical Slavic patronym) loved me more than my own mother did...

A quick update: Olesya and the father of her child, Oleksij, were married December 4 (by a civil ceremony). The fetus is female, and they already named the baby girl Alexandra (my wife Lesya's baptismal name). Little Lesya is due in February.

Asking your prayers again. There are some new developments, very negative, unfortunately. Myroslava's relatives are suing her for "abuse and neglect" of her old mother. It's a totally frivolous, idiotic lawsuit, but they are hard-nosed. They want Maria's apartment. Accodring to their version, Maria must be taken out from her psychiatric ward and re-settled in her apartment, while Olesya and Oleksij and their child must be out. Apparently, they hope that Maria will soon die and they will get either her apartment or a share of money after the apartment is sold...

I so much appreciate your prayers! Thank you all! About two weeks ago, the doctor who is in charge yielded to the pressure of those of my relatives who insisted on Mariya's release (they threatened legal action, and he was perhaps afraid, knowing how corrupt is the justice system in Ukraine). So, Mariya was released and re-settled in Myroslava's apartment. It was, predictably, very bad: in just a day, she became agitated, screamed, banged her head on the wall, etc. Eventually, a crew from the hospital had to come to Myroslava's apartment and subdue Maria and give her intravenous sedatives and other medications. After that, of course, Mariya was again hospitalized. At the moment, she is receiving very serious medication in the hospital (neuroleptics), and seems to do a whole lot better. She even recognizes Myroslava and calls her by name (a major development).
