Here is an interesting article I found about the first known black convert to Orthodoxy in America.  He was named Robert Morgan and he eventually ended up becoming a priest.

Interesting.  Just goes to show you that Orthodoxy is above any ethnic, racial or national lines we humans draw in the sand.

Are there lots of 'unknown' black converts to Orthodoxy who have become priests? Wink

Fr. Moses Berry, though I think he is more well-known...
He's a great guy and has been working to encourage more evangelism of more various ethnicities into Orthodoxy.

He's the president of The Brotherhood of St Moses the Black...

He has also been very involved in helping Reconciliation Services at 31st and Troost in Kansas City, MO. He has also helped and worked with the black communities in the Springfield, MO area. I think he is also involved with the newly formed FOCUS North America group based in KC.

A Kevin Allen "Illumined Heart" interview with Fr. Moses:

They are also making a documentary about Fr. Moses:

I've heard some Orthodox refer to Fr. Moses as a "walking Saint". I've never met him myself but I've heard nothing but very good things about him.
