Here is an interesting article I found about the first known black convert to Orthodoxy in America.
Are there lots of 'unknown' black converts to Orthodoxy who have become priests?

Fr. Moses Berry, though I think he is more well-known...
He's a great guy and has been working to encourage more evangelism of more various ethnicities into Orthodoxy.
He's the president of The Brotherhood of St Moses the Black...
http://www.mosestheblack.org/He has also been very involved in helping Reconciliation Services at 31st and Troost in Kansas City, MO. He has also helped and worked with the black communities in the Springfield, MO area. I think he is also involved with the newly formed FOCUS North America group based in KC.

http://www.godsgardenthefilm.com/http://www.youtube.com/user/ggthefilmI've heard some Orthodox refer to Fr. Moses as a "walking Saint". I've never met him myself but I've heard nothing but very good things about him.
