Some people may want to know how to make a prayer rope (also known as a chotki) and I thought this could be a good place for a guide on how to do it. This was something that interested me recently so I looked up how it's done. If you are curious about how it's made, or want to make one yourself, here's how it's done (and a little bit about it).

I'm very interested in making prayer ropes, but I never seem able to get beyond the point after taking the string off your fingers. Then you have to pull the string in various directions and I totally get lost... I need to keep trying, I guess... Thanks for the links, Devin. Good to have them all in one place.

The prayer forum is not good place to start this thread the simple fact remains; the prayer forum is for prayer only.  Therefore I have moved this to its current position in the Free For All Religious Forum.  -username! section moderator.  Please take more caution in posting threads into their proper forum in the future
