Prayers for my wife
« on: August 07, 2009, 01:15:37 AM »
Please pray for my wife who is losing her eyesight to macular degeneration.  Her eye problems began about 20 years ago when she was in her 30s and developed cataracts, one eye at a time.  Then macular degeneration claimed her left eye about 10 years ago.  About 2 years ago she developed macular degeneration in her right eye.  Thankfully they had found medication that could be injected into her eye to stop the progression.  That worked until January when she had a setback and her eye got worse.  In January she underwent surgery to remove the membrane around the macula.  That started to help but now she is legally blind.  Her retina specialist says he has done all he can but still sees her every 3 to 4 weeks but has stopped the injections for now.  We continue to pray for a small miracle to at least save her right eye and leave everything in His hands as we always have.  If it is His will she will be healed.

Lord have mercy!

My brother (who is 35) has macular degeneration (and a host of other eye problems) from being born about 3 months premature and having oxygen poisoning. He is legally blind enough to not be able to drive, but not enough to get the assistance that is out there.

Lord, have mercy!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.
