Brothers and sisters, why is there no Complete Idiots Guide to Orthodoxy or Orthodoxy for Dummies?
Now, I have a couple of these books, and while they sometimes aren't completely accurate, they do give a good introduction to the various faiths they are discussing. Does anyone know if there's ever been a push to write either or both of these for Orthodox Christianity? You'd think with 250+ million Orthodox Christians, the second largest Christian Church, it would be done, especially with Mormonism, with 13 million worldwide with both books. Now, of course these aren't supposed to be great theological discourses, but I think they do what they do: inform the general public, that can't read theological discourses, about a faith, and hopefully they become interested. I think it could help with evangelism as well.
Maybe I'll write it once I'm Orthodox
Any thoughts? Hope I'm not alone.
