Does anyone know an online version? I'll settle for a transcription in Latin characters, though a translation would be nice.
I also have some questions about the Vesper service
- at the beginning, there is a deacon (or subdeacon - I could not make out, but I'm pretty sure it was deacon) on a platform above the sacristy reading something. What was it?
- there is a part right at the beginning when everyone makes a bow from the shoulders when the priest is reading something. What is this?
- every now and then after the chanting, a priest will come to the center, bow to all the others, and then read something from a book. What is that?
- what is the significance of the deacons incensing so many times and why do they do this on Saturdays? I noticed today that they incensed 3 times, each time incensing in the sanctuary and then making a circuit of the church. On other days, sometimes a priest will do it.
Plus there seemed to be more litanies on Saturday because I heard Der Voghormia in very long chants, alternately by either side of the choir, which is not there on weekdays. Is this correct, or have I mixed up something?
I tried to look up the structure of the Armenian vespers in some Western liturgy books, but I am very confused. Today for example, there was a procession and a reading of the Gospel but this is not mentioned anywhere.
