Not sure about the prayer book you're speaking about Robb, but there is another great prayer book by St. Arseny of Konevets Press.
"Prayer Book - In Accordance With the Tradition of the Eastern Orthodox Church"
It's a wonderful prayer book and I think has become the primary prayer book for most Orthodox Christians I've met (though this is in just two parishes) It has an abundance of great prayers, including some kontakions during the year, prayers for if you miss the Divine Liturgy, etc... It even has in the back about 20 pages or so of quotes from Church Fathers and other Holy Saints. Most of these quotes are about prayer.
I would recommend it to anyone and it's relatively cheap (I think) as it's printed by Orthodox and spiral bound. (probably hundreds of pages though) It's about as small as the Jordanville Prayer Book but with many more prayers.
Interesting thing about this prayer book was that it was virtually unknown before the last All American Council in the OCA, then after conversations between Priests from Canada & the United States, the Priests here in the U.S. (including ours) found out about this prayer book & many ordered books for their entire parishes. I know this was done in my home parish, and I believe it was done here at the parish where I attend during the summer.
As a note, depending on where you are country wise, I think they are willing to modify some of the prayers to speak for your specific country, like in commemorating the leaders of our country. (For the U.S. it's President, Congress & Judiciary)
