I'm assuming this was around 1995, as one of the news stories went into a segment on the Clinton Whitewater scandal.

I never heard of this, but then I don't live in New York.  I think Mina is from New York.  Maybe he knows about it.

I'm from NY and i do faintly remember this. A coptic bishop who verified it said something to the effect that such phenomenon in Egypt is quite common and is nothing new to him. It was awhile back so yes i thin reply#2 is accurate around 1995. Also i remember they had a procession of it, so it was indeed taken off the wall.

It's an icon of V. Mary crying....you can see the smudges from fingers of people kissing the frame.

BTW, is there a thread for miracles?

We don't really have a thread for miracles here.  We just create threads for them, or add to old threads, as they come up.  If you want to read about other miracles, clicking on the miracles tag, below, will bring up other threads.  I think that is how we reference them.  Thank you for sharing the picture.   Smiley
