Dear Friends,
Just a reminder of this board's purpose:
This board's purpose is to further the Orthodox Faith through learning and fellowship.
A certain amount of debate and gentle argument is ok.
If you are mad at the person you are typing a response to, I highly suggest you stop what you are doing, pray for that person and yourself, and return to your post a few minutes later if you need to.
This may be the internet, but you will give an account to God for every post you write. Remember that.
Thanks, and now back to our regularly scheduled program....
Fr Anastasios

It's a great reminder (particularly to me). I heard someone mention something similar to this yesterday on a television program. He was talking about how easy it is to become caught up in forwarding things in our e-mail. His idea was to use the Draft folder more often. That way you can come back to what you've decided to e-mail after a period of time (perhaps a cooling down time) and perhaps revise or edit what you were going to send. The problem on a forum is that things are so immediate. One gets caught up in the discussion and there is perhaps a fear that your not responding quickly enough is an indication that you've either given up the debate or agree with the view expressed by the other poster. Pride... I suppose.

I've always believed this, even though I may not always remember it.
