11th anniversary of the Thurston High School shootings
« on: May 21, 2009, 11:49:43 AM »
Last night my wife cried herself to sleep because today marks the 11th anniversary of the Thurston High School shootings
She was a freshmen there when it happened.  The boy/shooter was her best friend.
She was crying last night because he killed his parents the night before he went to school and shot everyone he could.

This was 11 years ago, and she still cries every night before the shooting…
and for several days she feels unsafe in public because she is constantly afraid someone is going to violently murder her.

+Lord have mercy on all involved in this tragedy
Most Holy Theotokos, save us
"Disputes merely about words must not be suffered to divide those who think alike."
-St. Athanasius (†444)

Lord, have mercy!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.
—St. Isaac of Syria

Lord, have mercy.
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"
Met. Meletios of Nikopolis & Preveza, from his ordination.

Grant eternal and peaceful rest to those victimized by the above tragedy.

Comfort their families and strengthen them.

Lord have mercy.

Amen!
