Christ is risen! Hello all. I wanted to let you all know that I became a catechumen yesterday at the DL. I'm overjoyed and prayerfully excited for the future. Thanks to all who have been praying for me and I ask that you all continue to pray for me and all the catechumens of the Orthodox Church. In Christ, Andrew

Andrew,
Congratulations to you and many years!
During your catechumenate, please feel free to bring up your experiences on the board (as much as you feel comfortable, of course) and ask questions. Of course, we are not substitute teachers for your priest, the Scriptures, the Liturgy. Good luck with your journey. I pray that it is productive and ultimately brings you closer to our Lord and God in the fullness of the faith.

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.
