"Love Bites" from Def Leppard's Hysteria - Ever since this song was played for a high school assembly in memorial of a classmate who had died in a car wreck earlier in the week, I have never been able to separate this song from my memory of her.

Is Queensryche metal? I like a couple of their songs but have never considered them metal really. But I guess they just aren't a "hard" crunchy sort of metal. My husband took me to a concert while we were dating.

I would say they were metal for the first handful of albums, but moved to a more hard rock sound starting with Empire

my old band used to cover this one.  "Every Time I Die" by Children of Bodom.  Can't say I care for the singing style and the lyrics are typical depressing, but I really do like the melodies and the synchronization of keys and guitar. IT's a good and heavy sound, yet not overwhelming on the lower end.  The bands that have been coming out of Finland and Sweden are really something.

Your right to say "nightwish (old)". I liked them only with Tarja's voice...

Even for die hard Sabbath fans like myself, this song gets old pretty fast.  There is so much better stuff, even on the album from which "Iron Man" comes  which is "Paranoid."    There is a raging debate as to which lead singer for Sabbath was better.  Is it Ozzy or Dio?  My money is on Dio.  I'll let you decide.

Alexander the Great was never performed live.  The closest was when the band played Greece during the "Give Me Ed..." tour and Bruce Dickinson sung "Alexander the Greeeaaatt" under his breath in between two songs.

There is a raging debate as to which lead singer for Sabbath was better.
A "raging" debate over this?  Dude, thanks for the comic relief! Cheesy

From your comment I cannot tell whether
1) you think that the debate is settled with Ozzy or Dio coming out on top
2) you think that people are stupid for actually engaging in such trivium.  (Un)fortunately, this does subject does become quite controversial among Sabbath fans.

Du hast. Rammstein.  More for the social commentary if you can get the German.

For its use in an anti-Patriarch Alexei/PoM spot:

(I actually like the footage, in packed Churches).

You can wash it out with something like this:

(look at anything sunyaa links up there: they have excellent taste).

Norther

Norther seems solid in some ways, but nothing has ever driven me to a purchase.  Do they have a "best" album, agreed upon by virtually all of the Finnish elite?

I'm certainly no representative of noble Scandinavia, but I'd assume anything of their earlier works would be preferable.

Good heavens.  Speaking of Scandinavia, I can't believe I forgot to mention Týr.
