Mr. Demjanjuk, age 89, submitted himself to authorities yesterday evening for deportation from America to Germany, having exhausted any realistic legal appeals. While he is referred to in the media as "retired autoworker" or "accused death camp guard," he is an Orthodox Christian, being a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Parma, Ohio. Whether you think him guilty or innocent, please pray for him and his family.

Lord have mercy!
I remember during his sentencing by the "authorities" in Tel Aviv (interesting as the crimes were not committed there, nor were victims nor perpetrators citizens of that state that didn't exist), he crossed himself with every charge in the conviction, saying "not me." Years later, evidence proved him right: he wasn't "Ivan the terrible."

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more. A hasty quarrel kindles fire, and urgent strife sheds blood. If you blow on a spark, it will glow; if you spit on it, it will be put out; and both come out of your mouth

Please remember that this is the prayer forum and restrict it to prayer, not political comment.

John Demjanjuk lives right down the street from me. I feel bad for the guy, because all day there was a helicopter in the sky over his home, and the police drove right by my apartment complex with him in the ambulence. If you remember he went through this a few weeks before this and they let him stay. Old guy has been through this twice and I can tell you some people in our city here are tired of them doing this to him. Went to get my haircut and there was a few people there that just agreed for them to let him be. I figure let him stay home and when he dies he will be judged.

But certainly you can see that they speak for the victims better than anyone else. BTW... The Israeli Supreme Court over turned his conviction, it is Germany that is pursing this.

May the Lord have mercy on him and his family (regardless of guilt or innocence), and on all the victims and perpetrators of crime throughout history.

I think Mike was just agreeing with your prayer, and did not need to use different words.

Again, please restrict comment on the situation surrounding the allegation about Mr. Demjanjuk (including commentary on the Holocaust, concentration camps, and the trials that continue to operate in other countries) to threads outside the Prayer Forum.
Thank you!
