I decided to start a thread on this as I brought it up in another thread but I do not want to get in the way of that dicussion.
Catholic believe that Jesus is fully present, body, blood, soul, and divinity, under each species of the Eucharist. That is why communion under one kind is considered acceptable in the Catholic church. What do the Eastern Orthodox believe?
Do the Eastern Orthodox believe that the whole Christ is present under each species individually? Do they believe that the host (or whatever you call it) is all of Jesus or just his body? Do they believe what appears to be wine is the whole Jesus or just his blood? Do they believe that in order to receive the whole Christ, that both species must be consumed?
