Because you used a patently racist british empire term of deep historical insult and are now hiding behind the cassock of the church and your power as moderator- that's why. I never knew the hypocrites and pharisees immigrated to the land down under in such numbers.

Is this an example of righteous anger?

You insulted members of the forum in a unchristian manner.
Instead of correcting your error, you run away by locking threads and creating new ones as diversion from the injury.
You're a bloody gutless wonder.
I have no further desire to waste my time chasing you around father's hemline.

You insulted members of the forum in a unchristian manner. I clearly missed something here. Me too. I thought the topic about anger was very interesting, quite educational. I had no idea, for example, about the canon that instructed those who kill during war to abstain from the Eucharist. And I really failed to see anything "un-Christian" that OzGeorge said.

You insulted members of the forum in a unchristian manner. I clearly missed something here. So do I, and I keep track of such things here. Kav, if you have any complaints about Ozgeorge, you need to report them to me. Since you have made such a claim, I expect to have this information to me promptly so that I can look into it. If it is a spurious claim, then you need to admit to that.

^^Nannies - no, but in Russia and Ukraine (and probably in other Slavic countries) they had Baba Yaga. It's a witch that flies on a broom. Very nice lady. Boiled disobedient children in a pot.

I heard Yaga had a great aunt or something, lived in the Black Forest, and was more into baking and pasteries than boiling. Apparantly she had quite a decorative touch, and a real master with gingerbread.

Yes, she did that, too. In some Ukrainian folk stories, she had a little helper, a female snake called Olenka. My wife and I once became very surprised when our then 3 year-old daughter asked us, OK, Baba Yaga is bad, but isn't it true that Olenka is "good?" We said, how can she be good, she is a snake and a helper of the bad Baba Yaga. Our daughter was disappointed. She thought Olenka must be a positive character, because she has such a pretty name.

a female snake called Olenka Interesting choice of name for the snake, as Olenka is a diminutive of Olga, derived from the Norse Helga, meaning holy one. Maybe Olenka was a good snake after all!

Ukrainians generally tend to think that Olenka is a diminutive of Olena (Elaine, Helen) - but then, maybe it's from Helga, I don't know. But it really sounds so cute in Ukrainian: зміючка Олeнка. Like "this teeny snakie Olenka." My daughter went through another big life lesson when she was about 3: she suddenly learned that the Fox in Ukrainian fairy tales is a bad character. And again, the name of this character in Ukrainian is female and sounds very cute: Лисичка Ceстричка, literally "Foxie My Little Sister." I remember one day coming from work, and my daughter meeting me in the hallway with this very serious facial expression, and declaring: Foxie the Little Sister is BAD, because she LIED. (Лисичка-Ceстричка ПОГАНА, вона БРЕХЛА.)

Because he made it publicly and he has not supported that accusation. Although I fully know OzGeorge can defend himself, I still think it's of importance to this online community to help resolve disputes. Sorry if my previous words came off Star Magazine-ish.

strange c.1280, "from elsewhere, foreign, unknown, unfamiliar," from O.Fr. estrange (Fr. étrange) "foreign, alien," from L. extraneus "foreign, external," from extra "outside of" (see extra)... extra 1654, modern usages -- including sense of "minor performer in a play" (1777) and "special edition of a newspaper" (1793) -- all probably are from shortenings of extraordinary, which was used extensively in 18c. as n. and adv. in places we would use extra today. The prefix extra- was only recorded in classical L. in extraordinarius, but has been much used in modern formations such as extraterrestrial (1860s as an adj.; 1963 as a n.), and represents the old fem. abl. of exterus "outward, outside." exterior 1528, from L. exterior, comp. of exterus "outer," comp. of ex "out of."
