The mother of a friend of mine recently got back from the middle east and brought me back some blessed oil, a piece of string, and some incense in a small bag. On the small plastic bag, it says, "Our Lady of Lebanon, pray for us" in Arabic and French. My friend doesn't seem sure about the actual source of the oil, or the string. Does anyone know where these items are from? A miraculous object?

And also, is an Orthodox devotion to Our Lady of Lebanon permissible?

It's a Maronite (Catholic) statue of Theothokos. It has never been venerated by the Orthodox but I don't think it's forbidden.

I wouldn't use all that stuff because it wasn't blessed by an Orthodox Priest.

I don't like terms such as "Our Lady of Kazan/Kursk/Vladimir/Ivierion/Glastonbury..." There is ONE Theothokos of WHOLE WORLD. There can be statues or icons from some places but not Theothokos.
