These sorts of images have always made me very uncomfortable.  Can any knowledgeable Catholics on here help me to gain a better understanding of this sort of image?

There are several similair devotions, the Nino de Cebu, the Nino de Salud, the Nino de Atocha, the Nino Divino. google 'em to see the images...i won't post them here and use up room.
