I've posted in this forum before, but it has been quite a while, due to work, being exhausted etc.
Finally, my wife and I will truly enter the Church this coming Saturday! Although both of us were baptized as children in the Baptist church, our documentation is very iffy (is that really a word?) so we will both be baptized as well as chrismated. That is how I hoped it would work out, so I'm overjoyed that we'll both get the whole Orthodox package, so to speak!
I was surprised to find that we will also have the blessing of our marriage at the same time. I had assumed that since it's Great Lent, we would have to do that later; but our priest got permission from the Metropolitan, so that is on for Saturday as well.
I'm so happy and excited that I can hardly write without exclamation points all over the place!!!
Although we were both raised in the Baptist church, we spent many years as Episcopalians. For the last 15 of the 25+ years we spent in the Episcopal church we were both thinking, talking and praying about Orthodoxy; so it feels like it's been a long journey. Now I couldn't give a good reason that it took so long, but I wish we'd acted years ago! Thank God that the Ancient Church still exists!!

Congrats!
And plan now about what to do from April 20nth to September 1st.
1.) You could plan to visit a monastery during this time
2.) Join a group in your parish
3.) Sing in your church choir
4.) Attend Church conferences
5.) Pick up Orthodox theology classes
6.) Attend Vespers or Vigils.......ect. (some may not have them during this time)
7.) Bible studies, prayer groups, and lectures about Orthodoxy......ect.
Or anything else I forgot to mention, but whatever you do, stay spiritually bizzy around that time.......if you do then you should be fine.

Thank you very much for all the replies.
I'm especially thankful for the fact that my wife and I are together in this all the way. We've gone through the thinking and praying together, and arrived at the same conclusion at the same time.
We know several couples where one is Orthodox, and the other has real problems with it. We pray for them every day, and thank God for our own situation.

It's wonderful!! Evpraxia and I are finally truly Orthodox Christians.
Many wonderful people were present. I was amazed at how many of the people who we went to church with when we were Episcopalians came to our Baptism, Chrismation, Marriage Blessing. I hope and pray that this introduction to Orthodoxy will ignite a spark of interest for those people. Of course there were also many Orthodox faithful there as well to support us, and it was wonderful to have them there.
I am so very thankful that the ancient Church still exists today, and that we are now part of it.

Congratulations! Many Years! Evpraxia is such a beautiful name. One of the daughters of the Kievan Great Prince Yaroslaw the Wise (11th century) had this baptismal name. She married a German prince and spent the rest of her life in Western Europe. There is a very interesting historical novel about her and her sisters by P. Zahrebel'ny. (They all ended up as wives of Western rulers - Anna Regina being the most famous, the wife of a French king.)
