For my sister
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:48:04 PM »
My nephew, Joseph, (age 6) has been sick for 15 days with an off and on fever.  At first it presented as the stomach virus.  Then he was fine for a couple days.  Then the fever came back.  It starts to rise in the mid-afternoon and hits 101 or 102 F by bedtime.  Yesterday he awoke complaining his neck hurt when he looked up.  My sister, Barbara, looked at his neck and found  a lump the size of a golf ball along the mid-right side of his neck below his ear lobe.  He is being tested for leukemia and mononucleosis.

My sister has taken her employer (a box store) to court for not paying workman's comp for an injury she sustained which has caused permanent neck/spinal damage.  She can no longer live heavy objects nor lift her arm above her shoulder.  She also has a heart problem which is made worse by her panic and depression.

The company her husband works for is moving 90 minutes away from where they live.  He can commute, but they only have one car which has 150,000 miles on it.  He is not making much money but it is a job!

They cannot afford the medical insurance co-pay provided by the company so have State insurance.

They lost their home to foreclosure so their credit is awful.

Please pray for Barbara, Mike, and little Joseph.  They also have two daughters, Savannah & Brittany.
He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?  Micah 6:8

Oh dear Lord, have mercy on Barbara, Mike, little Joseph, Savannah and Brittany.

Grant them all health, fortitude and strength to get through all these hardships and come out even better on the other side.

They are all in our prayers!

Lord, have mercy!

Dear merciful heavenly Father, please look down with compassion upon Thy children during these times of difficulty and suffering. Ease their burdens, and heal their infirmities, for Thy Name's sake! Amen.

Thank you all for your sincere prayers.

My sister informed me this morning that Joseph's blood test results have ruled out mononucleosis and lymphoma.  The doctor wants to do a chest x-ray and further blood tests for leukemia.

While Joey has an elevated white count and the very swollen gland on his neck, his liver and spleen seem to be okay at this point.  He continues to run a fever, is pale, and very tired.  Barbara said he fell asleep last night at 8:00 p.m. and she had to wake him at 7:00 a.m. this morning.  That is unheard of for him.  He is always up bright at early with the sun, raring to go.

Kyrie Elesion.  Your continued prayers are gratefully appreciated.

Love in Christ, Trudy
