I am not a member of the Antiochian church, however, I have had many "encounters" with them - some good, some not so good.
All I can say is that maybe we should take a break today.
Father George (yes, the one from Detroit who signed that "not so good" letter), is dealing with a familial tragedy at the moment.
His 35 year old son-in-law has passed away this last weekend. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
Sometimes, tragedy brings us closer to God, and helps us realize what is truly important in "this" world, and what is important for the "next".
May we all take a moment, and no matter what our thoughts are about Fr. George and his actions, take a moment to say a prayer for our fellow Orthodox.
(Maybe this should be in the Prayer forum, however, I thought since the individual involved is directly mentioned in this thread, I would place it here.) Feel free to move it.

May his memory be eternal! May God bless his family in this tragedy.
Do you happen to know a first name? I think it would be appropriate to add to the proskomide table at school.

His name is Jason. _____________________________________________________________________
Obituary taken from Father George's church website:
Jason Zogaib, age 35, of Ann Arbor, Michigan died on March 13, 2009 after a courageous 2 year fight against leukemia. Jason graduated with a bachelor's degree from Siena Heights College. Jason served dutifully as an Ann Arbor Police Officer for over 10 years. Jason also had a passion for sports, having played baseball in college and playing competitive hockey for many years. He loved rooting for the Detroit Red Wings and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jason's brightest moments came from his family who loves him very much. He is also survived by the love of his life, his wife Lila (Shalhoub) Zogaib, and the apples of his eye: son Andrew, 5, and daughter Addison, 1. He is also survived by his father Thomas Zogaib; mother, Debra (Addy) Zogaib; brother Joseph (Marie) Zogaib; sister Jessica Zogaib; and grandmothers Evelyn Zogaib and Delores Haas.
Yours in His Service, Fr. George and Nouhad Shalhoub _____________________________________________________________________
