Political messages and warnings
« on: March 17, 2009, 04:37:22 PM »
I would really like to clarify when it is appropriate to suggest when a member of this board, such as myself, or anyone else should suggest to the moderators that an individual be given a formal warning for political messages.  I ask because I suggested, though not seriously and I should clarify that on that particular thread, that ozgeorge be given a warning for what I thought was more of a political issue despite the Ecumenical Patriarch's own commitment to global stewardship.

I remember when I was hit with a warning because I had suggested that money for a project might be found in stimulus bill which I believed then and now to be totally innocuous and not deserving of such a reprimand.  I do not support a warning for george because I did not believe in one for myself.

I have brought this concern up with my colleagues on the Admin/Moderator team where we can discuss it amongst ourselves.  Seeing that this is fundamentally a question about our moderation that shouldn't have been brought up for public comment like this, I am locking this thread until we've had the chance to formulate something conclusive.
