Prayer for the Forum
« on: February 08, 2009, 06:38:16 PM »
Let us pray for the health of the forum itself:
that we may be at peace with each other;
that we may all grow in knowledge and wisdom;
that we may grow in grace and holiness;
that our list will be a valuable resource for Christians everywhere;
that our list might be an example to the world and to the Church of
Christians at our best.

Let us pray for the members of the list:
pray for someone who has recently asked for prayer;
pray for the writer of the last message you read;
pray for your special friends on the list;
pray for someone you have not heard from in a long while;
pray for the person on the list you disagree with or dislike;
pray for the lurkers you never hear from.

Let us pray for the Church and the world:
that the Good News might be proclaimed and received joyfully;
that the wonders of the ancient Faith might be better known,
especially where it can serve to bring someone back to the Truth.

Lord, have mercy!
Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.

Lord, have mercy!
As a result of a thousand million years of evolution, the universe is becoming conscious of itself, able to understand something of its past history and its possible future.

I moderate a list for Celtic Christianity and every two weeks the prayer gets sent out to the list.  I thought it was kind of good for this list also.  Fr Ambrose

Lord, have mercy.
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"

Grant it O Lord!
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth
