I am wondering if anyone here has seen the movie THE GOSPEL OF JOHN with Henry Ian Cusick as Jesus. Produced by Visual Bible International, Inc. and directed by Philip Saville. It is currently showing at select movie theaters. The trailer and web site can be found at: http://www.gospelofjohnthefilm.com/mainpage.aspx

I'm resurrecting this ancient topic because I saw this movie at my local rental store. Anyone see it and/or offer some opinions about it? http://www.gospelofjohnthefilm.com/

I saw the movie, It supposedly follows the Gospel of John word for word, and the beginning of the movie is awesome. When the narrator reads.." In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God", when you see this part in the movie, it is very good. The rest of the movie is pretty good too, of course some parts are not as good as others, but all in all, it's very good.

ionus,
I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and unfortunately I do not share your opinion. In fact, I thought the movie was brutal.
How many times did Jesus say "I'm telling you the truth". I think I lost count after 7956. Just not for me.

South Serb, I know what you mean! That was really annoying, I would have much rather preferred "truly I tell you", but what are you gonna do I also did not like the scenes where Jesus is speaking in the temples, and the way the film the way he mysteriously appears and dissapears when he gets the crowds agitated. But it all is bearable to me, because the way they film the beginning really inspires me and shows (to me) how Jesus really is the Word incarnate. Overall it's not outstanding but it's definitely enjoyable. Just my opinion
