What about the three Moscow parishes in Australia?  Why is nobody getting twisted out of shape about them?
Because they don't seek to impose themselves. Anyway, what do you care? They are your Church now, remember?

Now, George, learn some manners when you address a priest.    You've been awfully grumpy through all of this thread.  What's up?

Well since I've already explained that in answer to BrotherAidan on this thread, and you obviously couldn't care less what I said, why should I answer you?

Are you really not aware of how rude you are being?   Just the phrase  "you obviously couldn't care less what I said, why should I answer you?" would have got me a clip around the head from my father.

Unreasonable when confronted with realities was he?
The reality is:
a) I've already answered your question in the thread (this is the second time I'm pointing this out).
b) Since you've been actively following this thread and replying, you're obviously reading it.
c) if you're not reading it, even after I've pointed out to you that I've answered your question in response to BrotherAidan, and you still make no effort to find out what that answer is, but instead tell me about your beatings as a child, you are clearly not interested in me, so let's talk about you.
Did your father beat you often?

Thank you for enquiring.  I think you may have broken list rules, but I must be wrong since after all you are a moderator and must know the rules inside out.

Anyway, you first.  Do you have childhood issues with your father?

Why wouldn't they? A Priest in the Orthodox Church who "corrects" a layman by striking them on the face is deposed. What's good for the goose.....

It's just that over here priests have told parents to ignore legislation on this matter.

New Zealand also has, according to it's own Ministry of Health (2006), a diagnosable rate of mental illness and/or addiction of 47% of the population.....
Somehow I see a connection with what you're telling parents to do to their children.

I don't suppose that you are deliberately misleading the people here but you are quite wrong.

Here is what the MOH actually said:

"The New Zealand Mental Health Survey, 2006, Ministry of Health) which shows that about 47% of New Zealanders will experience a mental illness and/or an addiction at some time in their lives"

Please note the difference from what you wrote.    The Ministry of Health does not say that 47% of New Zealanders are mentally ill at any one time but that during the course of their lives 47% may experience a mental illness or an addiction.

Why not read compline and go to bed?

If so. then he is a Priest who spends entire nights disparaging Orthodox Bishops on the internet, spreading untruths and divisions in the Church.
He'd be better off as a layperson in that case.

This....!   From the man who yesterday called my beloved former Patriarch Pavle of Serbia "the Antichrist as a Patriarch who leads the Serbian Synagogue of Satan."    Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

God forgive you, my son, for placing such words on the Internet.   I am sure it was simply an irrational moment, a moment when good judgement failed, and you did not mean what you wrote.

I freely admit being critical of the Ecumenical Patriarch for his participation (and the participation of his deacons) in the Mass of the Catechumens (the Synaxis) in the Vatican together with the Pope and other Catholic priests and deacons.

I freely admit being critical of the ways in which the Roman Pope was treated liturgically during his visit to Constantinople.  I share this distaste for these events with the holy fathers of Athos.

I freely admit being critical of Archbishop Stylianos' style of leadership in Australia and in particular his refusal to give the other Greek bishops full episcopal authority but keeping them in submission to him as administrators of "Archdiocesan Districts" and not of Dioceses.

I freely admit this.  After all it is all here and it is a matter of record.

BUT I do NOT admit to "spreading untruths and divisions in the Church."  I have spoken the truth.

May God forgive you for saying I am spreading untruths.

No. It's a statement of fact. You lied when you said the Pope was liturgically commemorated in by the Oecumenical Patriarchate in order to cause division in the Church.

With gratitude to the Greek person who sent me this information.  I knew the video had been on the Net back in early 2007 but I could not locate it.   I have not looked at it myself since my computer is on dial up and just too slow.

Still want to go on calling me a liar, George?

___________________________________
The liturgical commemoration of the Pope in Constaninople is on tape, proudly shown in multiple formats on the website of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

http://www.patriarchate.org/media/pope_arrival_2006.php

7 minutes and 5 seconds into the clip starts a Litany (Have mercy upon us o Lord accoring to Thy great Mercy....), and then we hear, in Greek:

"Again we pray for the Archbishop and Pope of Rome Benedict, and for our Archbishop and Patriarch Bartholomew..."

It' not bad enough that the Pope is commemorated at an Orthodox service before the Holy Table but he is even commemorated BEFORE the Ecumenical Patriarch.

As I said I did not try the video because my computer is too slow.  I asked the chap who sent it where he got the information and it comes from the Indiana list for December 2006.

https://listserv.indiana.edu/cgi-bin/wa-iub.exe?A2=ind0612A&L=ORTHODOX&P=R3400

It's been suggested that hunting around the Orthodox lists for this time frame in Dec 06 and Jan 07 will turn up other evidence since the matter was discussed on various Orthodox lists.

Yeah yeah....
You still don't get it.
The fact that you didn't even check the "evidence" yourself proves beyond doubt that you are not interested in facts or truth. You are only interested in dividing the flock of Christ and causing them to turn on one another.

I NEVER confessed that I "spend entire nights..."  You've made that up.

George ,
What business is this of yours?  I think I already mentioned the heart problems and the need to be vertical and not horizontal in bed.  I also have a very odd circadian rhythm now - about 4 hours of sleep and then 4-6 hours awake.

Mods, would you be able to shut this thread off?  All it is is a chance for George to be rude to me.  Thanks.

I wanted to add this on to the appropriate thread but I see it is locked.  See this link

Here is something I have received concerning the commemoration of His Holiness the Pope in Constantinople.  It provides pertinent viedo evidence and restores my reputation a little.

Dear Father Ambrose,

I recall that soon after you began to contribute to the Orthodox Christianity Forum
you aroused antagonism from Greek members with the claim that Pope Benedict had
been commemorated at the Phanar during his visit.  You were unable to provide the
videotube clip.  So you were roundly called a liar by some members of the forum.
It cannot have been a pleasant time for you.

Here is a short clip from the mountains of coverage of the Pope's visit to Constantinople
in 2008.

Patriarch Bartholomew's deacon clearly commemorates the Pope, and then the Patriarch.

May the Lord enlighten us all.

with love in Christ,

Fr. A

This thread was exceptionally reopened for a moment to allow Irish Hermit to defend the accusations directed to him - mike.
