I don't know why, but I could totally picture him doing this (taping such an idiotic conversation and walking them thru the math). I have had these types of conversations with operators at companies before.

Great clip.  I've encountered too many people willing and able to make the same mistake every time.  It's not a lack of education that's the culprit, however, but rather a problem with recall and application...

"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"
Met. Meletios of Nikopolis & Preveza, from his ordination.

...or, in this case, inability to accept correction.
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

Yes, exactly. They can't admit they made an error. Actually, more than once I have gone up to a salesperson with an item marked .99ยข and a penny and demanded that they honour their marked price. On occasion I have seen them remove the decimal point from the sign. Yea for education.
