As for the poll, I voted no as I agree with Kh. Frederica that it is hard to consider this possibility on the face of 2,000 years of continuous Tradition of male priesthood. I am open to change but I do not think that anything would be convincing short of the Lord or His angels directing us to change.

Even then, we would be told not to trust in visions, that they could be delusions, Satan can appear as an angel of light, etc.  Wink

My question remains about the poor pigs. They must suffer from agonizing kidney stones if they get too much oxalic acid.

If they are turned into bacon and ham like the should be, they should not live long enough to get kidney stones.  This is one of the reasons that I don't like fasting.  Nobody thinks of the poor pigs.

Scamandrius, if one thinks masturbation is love, one needs recalibrations that I certainly can't offer here.

I said masturbation is how love errs, in this case with regards to object.  Since love is an I-you relationship, when it is replaced by I -me, love is corrupted.

It's not about love in any form; it's simply about feeling good and passing spare time. Believe me, I have a lot of experience with this.

What exactly meant by Holy Russia ?
In the current context, it's a fetishization of the political state that has replaced the former political state in an idealized past that almost existed for a minute a few hundred years ago.

Historically, it's Russians thinking like Americans do now, but with better churches.

The same in raising cows and goats. In order to increase milk production, farmers would gradually cease milking the cow or goat and let it go into estrus so that it could become pregnant. During pregnancy, the goat or cow does not produce milk. Then after the newborn calf or kid is born, the cow or goat would have an abundant and renewed milk supply. This too can be timed so that the pregnancy could occur during The Nativity Fast and Great Lent.

At least someone was having sex during the fasts.

I don't really want details, but if there is a marital fast is there a marital feast?

I am surprised that you do not know that in our Church a fast is always concluded with a feast.

Exactly Carl!

Of course, the marital feast cannot be on Mondays because of the angels, or Tuesday evenings because it is the eve of a fast day, or Wednesday because it is a fast day, or Thursday evening because it is the eve of a fast day, or Friday because it is a fast day, or Saturday because it is the hold Sabbath, or Sunday because it is the Lord's Day.  But Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 6 and 7:30am is safe (not after that, though, because of the first and subsequent Hours).  However, you must be done by 7:30am to take a shower (be careful not to bend the knee when washing yourself during the 50 days from Pascha to Pentecost).  Also, be careful not to play Tony Bennett records because he was a heretic, and you cannot have any sexual thoughts in your head whatsoever because the sole purpose is to make babies who also do not grow up to have any sexual thoughts in their heads about their spouse when they get married and have to go through the human-spawning process.  It is best just to think of your grandmother knitting or praying or her prayer rope while the whole baby-making process is going on, with the blinds drawn lest you look upon one another with enticement.  Then be sure to make an appointment with the priest for confession after you go to hear the Hours read on whatever Tuesday or Thursday it is.  Also, the Tuesday or Thursday cannot be during any of the fasting periods because they are for our mortification, nor any of the festal periods because they are for the Lord.  That gives you the Tuesday or Thursday in mid-July or early November, so long as a doxology-ranked feast does not fall therein for the parish or a neighboring monastery.     Tongue

I will admit to being traumatized.  I'm not normally in such close proximity to non-white people and I went to the beach the week after and my skin started to get darker and I thought you had infected me.  Tongue

On a somewhat more serious note, we had our family vacation the week after and then I had to go to Alabama for work, so I haven't had reliable access to my beloved computer and I hate getting on the forum with my tablet.  It is like giving an artist a color by number book.  I can't work my craft with such a crude implement.

Imaginary Mor has a huge collection of women’s pants hanging on the wall of his basement. Every evening he sits down there with a tumbler of rice whiskey and stares at the wall, muttering to himself, “Yes, nice pants. Very awesome. Yes, very nice and awesome.”

So I went to DL, despite a headache.

So as things progress, I keep seeing this flash of light out of the corner of my eye.  I wear glasses so I have -zero- clear peripheral vision, so I kept thinking 'is this my headache....am i seeing things?'   it was not consistent but kept happening, leaving me thinking i might need to go to the Dr. afterwards.

DL winds to a close, and as people go up to kiss the Cross and get a blessing, I see it again!  Only this time I can see that its at ground level and is attached to a small child, one of our Deacon's girls.  She has on new shoes that flash if she steps down hard enough!

I talked to the Diakonissa afterwards and told her my tale of thinking i was either very ill or insane, and we both had a good laugh. Evidently she didn't want to let the little one wear -those- shoes to Church, but they would not have arrived if she didn't.

D, who is very glad she isn't more damaged then previously thought
I'm disappointed. I was almost sure this story was going to end with you seeing the Uncreated Light and going off to live in a monastery.

As I have no plans to ask for access to the private forums, I can while away my time enjoying the imaginative picture I have of them in my head, as a place where everyone becomes very jovial and civil, reminisces about friendly meet-ups that lasted long into the night over good wine, and laughs at the public forums as a great show for the public to confuse themselves with.
