I didn't read the first 125 pages, so I'm not sure if this belongs here, but I thought this was interesting:

God fell for a Jewess too, so talk to him about it.

those impediments don't make any sense in any urban setting at least, today; they made some sense in a very rural, patriarchal society where everybody and their mother seemed or at least thought they were privy to what their neighbours or villagers did with their privates, but that's for better or worse a dead or dying world.

In the rural, everybody knew. In the urban, everybody tells.

A "Jewess"? Do you listen a gramophone together?
It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

Heavy petting is also allowed on days when oil and wine is permitted. Possibly a bit more on the fish days.

I'm sorry, but I didn't fully understand your comment. Could you please explain more :) Thanks.

Dude, once you realize that you've fed your horse too much pot, you should probably get off the horse and walk.
Are you content with just being an intelligent hairless ape that just cannot resist the primitive urge to fling poo at people passing by,  just like a monkey in the zoo ?

Do you stay in the field and do the work that you accepted, or do you continuously run back into town and give people black eyes, or maybe push them down the stairs, because they don't do what you do ?

In the class about Botanics, the teacher was giving detailed explanation on the reproduction of funghi. It suddenly became clear that I was a kind of voyeur for the sexual life of mushrooms.

Thought the bolded was lovely:

Now I have to wonder - my mother died some years ago, and I would say my heart has "moved toward her" many times. I wonder ... I never felt it right to really say I would "pray to her" but I wonder if God can let her know my thoughts. I've asked Him to tell her things for me a few times.

Kind of a reverse of having saints pray for one? (And my mother - I love her - was not a saint - she came to realize she needed faith only shortly before her death - I pray she is indeed in Him.)
Even with some living loved ones with whom communication became difficult if not impossible, I've on more than one occasion "talked to the wind" and asked God to blow the wind and the words in their direction.

Scripture tells us that love is as strong as death, and in Christ, love is stronger than death. All love that is love finds its origin, meaning, and destination in him. I don't think it matters how you "send the message", God knows how to get it there.

I think this is a wonderful statement without any context, but I am guessing it was deserved where it was posted.

No come to Stockholm instead, I am sure you will fit in much better! It is probably the most tolerant place on earth. Your children will be taught how to have homosexual group sex in school, they would have access to gender neutral locker rooms.

The girls would not wear flip-flops and they would all have gay and Muslim friends. With some luck, she may also have an unfinished PhD in art or sociology or something. The only downer is that she want you to breast feed the children, but that's cool, right?

Welcome here instead, you will fit in much better! Your sister is invited too!

If this was the child a drug lord, there would be no question about baptism.
Yeah, and does the drug lord have a picture of himself kissing a huge bag of drugs while holding the baby after it is baptized? Don't think so.

So apparently someone decided to use my MasterCard info to make an online purchase. Wonderful. The charge happened a couple weeks ago and was for a website with (let's call it) special content. It was going to continue charging each month, but the billing company has now canceled that. Nothing turned up with a Google search using the information I was given regarding who made the charge.

I'm sorry, man, I meant to tell you.  I was "in one of those moods".  And broke.

I am burning to say this and it looks like a good place:

I swear that people who become Christians are the dumbest people on the planet... So, become Christian or Christ-like, not A Christian, not God's b!@#$^ because otherwise you get flushed down the toilet of history.

All religious people are morons. But then again non-religious people are morons too. Might just abbreviate it to people are morons. Oh well.

You know the old saying, "When not in Holy Russia, do as they do in Holy Russia."

Reminds me of one of my favorite Flannery O'Connor quotes:
"When in Rome, do as you done in Milledgeville."

Selam
"Whether it’s the guillotine, the hangman’s noose, or reciprocal endeavors of militaristic horror, radical evil will never be recompensed with radical punishment. The only answer, the only remedy, and the only truly effective response to radical evil is radical love."

If I've murdered and repented, yes, I can call myself an Orthodox Christian.  But if I'm Buffalo Bill and I'm actively killing and claiming the Church wants it to put the lotion on its skin, or the Church will give it the hose again, that's a problem.
All opinions expressed by myself are quite tragically my own, and not those of any other poster or wall hangings.

I made dirty steak this weekend, which was a inch-thick ribeye cooked directly on hardwood coals.  Also, some corn on the cob roasted on the coals.  It was delicious.

What does the ash add to the steak?

This is precisely the problem. I dated a Miriam once and I am sure Merriam is no better. What went on I will not divulge, but I recommend keeping away from this dictionary.

And yes, I am going to plug the Ersatzian University Press dictionary because it is probably vetted by the Armenian Apostolic Church and therefore safe from (left blank in order to not get into a debate). Forewarned is Forearmed. Whatever that means.

No sarcasm here, this was the most magnificent post I have read here in quite some time.

For my part, I avoid bodies of water larger than a bathtub.  I fear that if I am seen near water by an Eskimo, I will be speared by them thinking they have found a mutated walrus.
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
