Orthodox Apologetic Theology by Andreyev...
« on: January 15, 2009, 01:43:18 PM »
Grace and Peace Everyone,

I'm reading a copy of Orthodox Apologetic Theology and I was wondering what others thought of I.M. Andreyev?

Thank you.

St Basil the Great (330-379 A.D.): “I think then that the one goal of all who are really and truly serving the Lord ought to be to bring back to union the churches who have at different times and in diverse manners divided from one another.”

I didn't like that work, unfortunately. I thought it was a little naive, especially the bee story. But I am not sure about other works of his.

Please Buy My Book!

Past posts reflect stages of my life before my baptism and may not be accurate expositions of Orthodox teaching. Also, I served as an Orthodox priest from 2008-2013, before resigning.

I was loaned the book and I wasn't too enamored with it. Like Anastasios the bee episode was problematic. I'm also a little unsure about the editing- I've seen versions of the book online that talk about Darwinian evolution (with the assumption that it's real), and I wonder if Fr. Seraphim removed those parts to fit his own view, which would be regrettable in my opinion.
