This could be in "Family" or it could be here. So I am putting it here. But if you need to move it please do.
Most Roman Catholics I have come across are vehemently against circumcision. (typically the discussions on CA would get vicious and end up shut down and deleted). Are the majority of Orthodox against circumcising baby boys?

Interesting.....like an anti-Judaism thing....
From what I've come, most don't really give a hoot. If they do, it is the more "I want my boy's wee-wee to look normal" sentiment.

Wow, that's surprising. I used to volunteer in the maternity ward of a Catholic hospital and never ran into that.
All the boys in my family were circumcised without a second thought simply for sanitary reasons. It was never an issue. (I'm not saying this is official Orthodox doctrine, just relating my personal family experience.)

In Ukraine, people generally think that circumcision of infant boys is a Jewish and Muslim custom. Nobody has children circumcized for sanitary reasons, it's just totally unknown. (BTW, from a purely medical standpoint, there are no advantages of circumcision vs. non-circumsision, given that a boy or a grown man simply maintains good hygiene.)

We took our son to a mohel to have his circumcision. If we have another son we will do that again. Mohels has a great deal of training and anymore any doctor (other urologist) that does circumcisions now just has a weekend seminar and that is it.

I don't know of a reason why it would be opposed by Roman Catholics, but then again, it isn't a common practice up here.  |

I'm not certain that Jesus rejected circumcision. I'm not sure Jesus rejected bestiality explicitly it still doesn't give a reason to partake in it. |

We first have to leave aside the Arab, Coptic, Syriac and Ethiopian Orthodox (and perhaps the Knanaya Indian Orthodox), as they ALL circumcize ALL males. Some have an issue with it, but my (ex)Romanian nephew was almost circumcized for health reasons as a todler. I'd heard Romanians have issues of it being Jewish, but that seems not to have played no role in his parents in the end not going along with it. Yes, RC seem to have a real issue with this. The US is the only place where they don't. The Maronites are the only group, besides the Druze, who don't circumcize in the Middle East. |

I'd say circumcision, pro or con, is not on the radar screen of most Orthodox Christians.
The Circumcision of Christ is a feast day in the Orthodox Church, commemorated on Jan. 1st. I believe Roman Catholicism likewise commemorates this event in the life of Christ, which, I think, in part, demonstrates His human nature on Earth.
