I meant to post this a while ago...
Please, everyone, pray fervently for Fr. Anthony Demetri and Presbytera Eleni. Fr. Anthony suffered cardiac arrest a while back and is currently not in good condition. He has improved some, thanks to the fervent prayers of those who know of his plight. Especially in light of our Lord's glorious birth, I ask for everyone to pray fervently that he make a full, speedy recovery. As well please pray for his family, especially Presbytera Eleni, who suffers with him at his bedside with worry and heartache.

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.

I'm glad you posted this, Pr. Mari. I was thinking about doing it awhile back, but forgot (especially in the light of Fr. Sedor's passing). It's a shame - Fr. Anthony is not an old man, but has had such difficulties in his life; and now, to add to him and his wife, his parish needs prayers, as he has only been there a few months. He desperately needs our prayers.
Lord, have mercy on him.

"Put the medicine of your mercy upon Thy Servant, Anthony, the Priest. Raise him up from his bed of pain, You who are the Physician of our souls and bodies, O Lord."
Fr. Anthony served a parish in my area for 11 years (+/-). He is a dedicated servant "in the Vinyard of our Lord."
Thank you for the posting.

For those who haven't looked at the Caringbridge website, it was updated last night, to say the following: Fri night (12/26) -- Update from Presvytera Eleni. Fr. Anthony appears to be slowly and steadily improving. He is already receiving physical and occupational therapy. Physical therapy must really tire him out, though, because when the occupational terapist came in this morning, he would not open his eyes for her, even with me trying to coax him to do so. Fr. had a short trip back to Holy Spirit to fix the central IV due to its having twisted. Thankfully, eveything went well.
This evening, my brothers with their families went to visit Fr. Anthony and he was alert and trying to communcate with us. He was moving his lips, but I'm not very good at lip reading, so it was difficult to tell what he was trying to tell us. My brother Dennis, suggested that we get Fr. Anthony a dry erase board to try to write whatever he wants to say. He smiled at the suggestion, so I will try to pick something up before going to see him.
Thank God, he seemed to still be as mentally sharp as ever. God only knows how long before he'll be able to care for himself again. Of course, after that, comes bypass surgery, but that's still somewhere down the road.
Pres. Eleni
Lord have mercy on your servant Anthony the priest and his family! Glory to Him for Fr. Anthony's continued improvement! Please keep praying!

It seems that he is improving, and is able to do some small tasks (roll on his side to see someone, shake hands, do his cross over his stomach, etc.). Hopefully this will continue, and pick up some steam (so to say).
