Travel mercies
« on: December 22, 2008, 02:59:00 PM »
Dear folks,

Please say a quick prayer for my wife and myself as we are going to Crockett, TX early tomorrow morning. We are going to spend Christmas with our son-in-law's parents who have a very nice lake-side property there. Our daughter and her husband will fly in from Boston, too.

I will be driving, and it's a long drive from where Lesya and I live (Starkville, MS), and it's freezing outside right now, I am not the best driver in the world, so I'm a bit nervous. Will greatly appreciate your prayers.

Thank you (or, like we say in Mississipi, thank y'all all'y'all:) )

-G. :)

Lord, have mercy!
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"

Lord, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy!
Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.

Glory to God for that.
