For those interested, the acts of the Seventh Ecumenical Council in English are available for reading above. It's the entire thing, minus some repetitious exclamations of the Fathers of the Council. Ignore the annoying commentary of the Iconoclastic Protestant commentator, and you'll do fine.  Wink

The Worship of Images as it's subtitle makes the proposal that people commit the action as idolatrous. It is called the "Iconoclastic controversy' to make Icons front and center in worship. Does anyone ever know if the Canons allow veiling icons? Just so the images of Jesus and Mary in a church are not overtly embellished with the emotional ties a layperson puts on it.

Like I said, that's just the Protestant translator's editorial bias. Of course we don't "worship" Icons, as he would have it. The primary interest as the acts which he translates.
