Just wanted to ask for your prayers as my daughter Athanasia was today diagnosed with pervasive developmental disorder (specifically, a mild form of autism). She's 3 1/2 now, and while she is well ahead of her age in some things, like counting, she is behind in communication skills, pretend play, and other areas. The people who diagnosed her (Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh) suggested speech therapy for her, which she was already receiving, among some other things. If you could say a prayer for her it would be greatly appreciated!

Lord have mercy.

May the grace of the Lord allow Athanasia to catch up in communication skills, pretend play and other areas to her peers.

Amen!

My girlfriend's son was diagnosed with Aspberger's Syndrome as well as mild ADD.  He has done extremely well with speech therapy and occupational therapy.  She also has gotten him bio-feedback therapy which has done unbelievably wonderful things for him.  Just a few months ago, for the first time ever, while I was engaged in conversation with him, he looked me right in the face while talking!  Until that point, he would look elsewhere.  For those who have a child with Autism, you will understand how huge this is.

Take courage Asteriktos.  By God's Grace, Athanasia will do just fine.  If you would like further info., let me know and I will speak with my friend.

Lord have mercy.

As someone who has a child who was diagnosed at 15 months with Downs Syndrome and knowing more then one child/teen/young adult who is in the Autism-Asperger's Spectrum, I know a bit about the shock and concern.  Please feel free to PM me if you want.
